HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut has a new tool at your disposal when it comes to protecting your property.
State leaders on Tuesday announced the online "climate risk mapping" tool that allows homeowners and business owners to assess their property's risk from flooding, wildfires and other possible hazards to better understand their insurance needs.
It offers interactive maps and risk-rating reports, so you can see your property's exposure to a range of climate-related risks.
"Make sure that people have the very best information they need so that they know what risks they are, when they build where they are or when they buy where they are," Gov. Ned Lamont (D-Conn.) said.
Connecticut is the first state to make this mapping tool available for all of its residents.
