Seattle police detectives are investigating after a shooting victim walked into the hospital in Downtown Seattle this afternoon.

At about 11:50 a.m., patrol officers responded to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) after a man, suffering from a gunshot wound to the back, admitted himself into the emergency department.

Police determined that the victim sustained his injuries near 12th Avenue South and South Main Street. There, they found two shell casings. The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation. No suspect information is known to officers at this time.

Detectives in the Gun Violence Reduction Unit responded to HMC to interview the victim. Anyone with information is asked to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
