A GoFundMe was created for a family who lost two children in a fatal horse and buggy crash Sunday night in Northumberland county.
Ervan Zook, 34, and Leah Zook, 29, of Dornsife, were traveling in their horse-drawn buggy with their 9-year-old son, 7-year-old daughter, 3-year-old son and an infant at 8 p.m. Sunday when a car drove into the back of their buggy. The driver, John M. Koperna Jr., 39, of Pottsville, told police he thought he fell asleep at the wheel.
All of the Zook family members were thrown from the buggy, and the horse died from its injuries. The 7-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and the 9-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital. The rest of the family was transported to Geisinger after the crash. According to the GoFundMe:
