SOUTH HEART, N.D. — Des Lacs-Burlington junior Laila Christianson has started making state championships a fall tradition.

Christianson captured her second consecutive North Dakota Class B girls golf state title Tuesday with a second round 2-under 70, finishing at 3-under 141 over two rounds at Pheasant Country Golf Course.

Christianson distanced herself from the competition after firing a 1-under 71 on Monday to take a four-stroke lead heading into the final round. In her second round, she birdied twice and bogeyed once on both the front and back nines.

Kindred sophomores Kaylin Goldsmith and Lauren Mueller both tied for second place with 9-over 153s. Goldsmith tied Christianson for best second-round score at 70.

Mueller capped off the two-day tournament with a 6-over 78 on the final
