The afternoon start time for the American League Wild Card Series made things tough on Cleveland Guardians fans. But they did what they could to be there Tuesday, Sept. 30 for Game 1 of the series against the Detroit Tigers .

"I'm ready to see what they can do today, I called off work. They needed me but I was like, 'no I can't do it,'" Hunter Johnston said.

Johnston plans to come to all the wild card games.

Cleveland hosts all of the games in the best-of-3 series. It continues Wednesday, Oct. 1 with the Tigers looking to close out the Guardians after a 2-1 win Tuesday . Buy Cleveland Guardians gear
