The trial of Leslie Dale Boileau Jr. , a 33-year-old former Marion County Sheriff's deputy charged in connection with the shooting death of his live-in girlfriend, Polina Wright, had its first full day on Sept. 30.

The state rested its case, and the defense is scheduled to present its case on Oct. 1.
