Police are investigating after a transgender woman said she was harassed by a man on the beach in Sandy Hook.
Eve Riley, 28, said she filed a report with Gateway National Recreation Area police after a man called her names and threw sand on her while walking on Gunnison Beach on Sept. 23.
Gunnison Beach is the only legal clothing optional beach in New Jersey. Riley, her friend and the man who approached her were clothed during the incident.
Riley recorded the interaction and a spokesperson at Gateway National Recreation Area confirmed a report was filed and they are investigating the incident.
