(KRON) -- Jonathan Kuminga and the Warriors have agreed on a contract for the forward to stay in Golden State, according to reports. The contract is for two years and $48.5 million, reports by ESPN and the San Francisco Chronicle say.

There is a team option for the 2026-27 season, giving the two sides the ability to negotiate a new deal after this upcoming season. According to Shams Charania, the Warriors increased their initial contract offer by $8 million to the 22-year-old Kuminga.

Contract negotiations have been ongoing since the summer. ESPN reports that Kuminga turned down a three-year, $75 million deal to "maintain a higher level of control over his immediate future."
