HAUGHTON, La. – The $8.4 million project to overlay a segment of U.S. Highway 80 in Bossier Parish is complete – four months ahead of schedule.

The project stretched from Flat River near the Bossier Parish Community College in Bossier City to Merrywoods Boulevard in Haughton, providing roadway base repairs at specific locations, asphalt paving, striping and signage.

The contractors, Benton & Brown, coordinated with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development project team to pave high volume traffic areas to minimize traffic disruptions as much as possible along the busy corridor.

The construction work was finished with about 50% of time left on the contract, DOTD said.
