ST. CHARLES, Mo. ( KMOV /Gray News) - A mother in Missouri is accused of fatally shooting and stabbing her 16-year-old son.

Krista Roy, 47, is charged with first-degree murder and armed criminal action.

Police say they received a call just before 11:00 a.m. Tuesday about a welfare check on a 16-year-old boy.

When officers arrived, they detected a foul odor inside the house. Police say reporting parties have not heard from the teen for several days.

Upon arrival, police found the victim dead inside the house, after being shot and stabbed multiple times.

Officers say Roy allegedly confessed to killing her son.

Roy is being held on $1 million cash-only bond.
