Replacement of the bridge at the outlet to Rimrock Lake on East Rosebud Creek will begin on Friday, Oct. 3.

The bridge was washed out in severe floods in 2022 . The structure along Trail No. 15, also known as the Beaten Path and the Cooke City Trail, was essential to thru-hiking.

Since the bridge was washed out, two hikers have died trying to cross the fast-moving stream in separate incidents. The body of the second victim , who was swept downstream this summer, was finally found and retrieved last week after many hours of searching. The first victim drowned in 2024.
