ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - On Tuesday morning, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth spoke to admirals and generals in Virginia.

Veterans in Stone Mountain spoke to Atlanta News First about their thoughts on his remarks.

“We have a new secretary of war and a new administration, and they will be making changes they see fit,” said former Army Ranger Robin Biro.

Biro said he was watching closely as many of those changes were announced by Hegseth.

Also watching closely was William Freeman, a retired lieutenant colonel in the Army and National Guard.

“A lot of the pundits are screaming at him right now, and they don’t even like the military,” said Freeman.

Hegseth mentioned dismantling many DEI policies, and Biro said they expected that.
