College Football’s biggest game returns to New Orleans

The Big Easy will crown a champion once again inside the Superdome.

When college football fans think of iconic championship moments, New Orleans often comes to mind. From LSU’s unforgettable 42-25 win over Clemson in 2020 to the Sugar Bowl’s long history of shaping national champions, the city has been at the heart of the sport. Now, the Caesars Superdome will once again host the College Football Playoff national championship, this time on Jan. 24, 2028, for the 2027 season.

This marks the first time in eight years that the CFP finale returns to New Orleans. No other city blends culture and football history like New Orleans. LSU’s championship runs and the Sugar Bowl’s legacy cement it as a natural fit.
