LIBERTY COUNTY, Ga. (WSAV) - Liberty County School System board has appointed Debra Frazier as superintendent through June 2026, after she previously served as interim following Franklin Perry’s retirement in June.

Frazier, who came out of retirement to take on the interim role, said she originally planned to “lay a foundation for the new superintendent.” Now, she will oversee the district for the next two years.

Her top academic priority is tracking test data more closely throughout the year, instead of waiting until the end, to ensure the district stays on track.

“The success will be measured by benchmarks,” Frazier said. “So we’re not going to wait until the end of the academic school year to look for that success, and we’re going to measure it while we’re moving forward.”
