LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) — Felix Olschofka has directed the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Glenn Korff School of Music for two-and-a-half years, but if the chancellor’s budget proposal passes, his job will be gone — and the music school will be overseen by the director of the Johnny Carson School of Film and Theater instead.
“You don’t fire the football coach and have the volleyball coach lead both teams, right?” Olschofka told 10/11 Tuesday afternoon.
Chancellor Rodney Bennett made the proposal announcement Sept. 12, with more than $27.5 million in planned eliminations and reductions , including getting rid of programs in meteorology, landscape architecture and statistics.
