The Union County Prosecutor’s Office is looking for video from home surveillance cameras or dash cameras of the vehicle that struck and killed two 17-year-old high school students riding an ebike on Monday.
The vehicle was identified as a 2021 black Jeep Compass Utility 4D Altitude 4WD with tinted windows, according to the prosecutor’s office . The vehicle was traveling in the area of Hillcrest, Burnside and Lincoln avenues in Cranford.
Investigators are looking for any witnesses or video of the Jeep before or after the crash, authorities said. Those submitting information to the prosecutor’s online and phone tips line are eligible for a reward of up to $10,000 if the tip results in an arrest and indictment.
