When Roseville residents visit the existing Rotary Park next year, they’ll encounter not only new facilities but a new title honoring two longtime city supporters.

The Roseville City Council voted last week to approve changing the name of the recreational field to the George & Maggie Rollinger Park. The name change was recommended by the city’s recreation board.

Maggie Rollinger, who died this past summer at age 65, had served as the chair for the Roseville Parks & Recreation Board for many years and was a board member for several years prior to becoming the group’s chair.

Her father, George Rollinger, who passed away in 2009 at the age of 79, served on the recreation board for 27 years.

“Between the two of them they served on the Roseville Parks & Recreation Board for over 50 years,”
