Oklahoma State Superintendent Ryan Walters turned in his letter of resignation on Tuesday.

In his letter, Walters said he was thankful for his opportunity to serve the students of Oklahoma and that his new role would follow that same mission.

He highlighted four accomplishments that he achieved during his tenure as state superintendent since January of 2023: he said he , , to shape the futures of their children instead of bureaucrats, and and “defended Oklahoma values against agendas that distracted from learning.”

Ryan Walters said in that his office “championed St. Isidore, the nation’s first religious charter school, [and] defended parental rights up to the Supreme Court.”
