Mead and Holy Family football might feel night-and-day coming into their matchup on Friday.
Though the Tigers are just a game back of the Mavs at 3-1, Mead comes into its home game against Holy Family soaring. It continued its early power surge in Week 5, beating Lewis-Palmer 50-9 to move to 4-0 on the year.
The Tigers, however, have hit a rough patch. After nearly letting a big lead slip against the Rangers in Week 4, they struggled in a 35-14 loss to Pueblo East on Thursday.
It reflected in this week’s Colorado Preps 3A football rankings as the the Mavericks stayed firm in second and the Tigers dropped three spots to seventh.
