SOMERSET, Vt. (ABC22/FOX44) - Vermont State Police said that David Maynard, 74, of Wilmington, was reported missing Monday night. His family reported that he had taken his boat out and not returned.

Maynard's car and his empty trailer were reportedly parked near the boat launch at the southern end of the lake, but neither he nor his boat were found even after an all-day search Tuesday.

The boat is described as a 14-foot blue and white hulled aluminum Jon boat. The boat has a 20 to 30 horsepower engine and a black trolling motor on the front.

Anyone with possible information about Maynard's whereabouts is asked to call Vermont State Police, Shaftsbury Barracks at (802) 442-5421.

According to police, the search will resume Wednesday morning.
