STATEWIDE -- Anthem says they have asked Northern Light Health to extend its contract beyond the current deadline in order to avoid care disruption for members while the two parties continue negotiations.

If that is not agreed to, then effective Wednesday, Northern Light’s non-hospital facilities, doctors, and specialists will be out of network for Anthem’s employer-sponsored and individual health plans.

Anthem says it remains committed to reaching a fair agreement that protects affordable access to care for Mainers.
