TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (WCTV) - Tallahassee firefighters saved a puppy from a raging house fire on Tuesday, but several other pets died in the blaze.

The Tallahassee Police Department said they responded to the fire on Skylark Avenue at about 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday, and found “heavy fire coming from a two-story residential structure.”

Firefighters searched the home and found no people inside, according to a TFD press release.

TFD said it is unclear what started the fire, and it remains under investigation.

The Tallahassee Police Department, City of Tallahassee Utilities and Leon County EMS also responded to the scene, according to the fire department.
