Aged care workers will receive more money in their pocket, with a fourth pay rise in three years set to take effect.
Wednesday's increase means a level two registered nurse, which is the most common level, will receive an extra $60.20 a week, with enrolled nurses to earn an additional $62.20 a week.
It comes after the Fair Work Commission handed down an award wage rise for 400,000 workers in the sector.
Aged care worker Mandy Smith welcomed the pay increase and said "it's nice to know that we're being recognised".
"We have a lot of complex needs now, a lot of behaviour, and anybody who worked in aged care will understand how difficult the job is," Ms Smith said at a press conference in Brisbane.
