WALKER COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) -- Greg Barnes won the Alabama House District 13 special GOP primary election Tuesday.

Barnes received about 69.19% of the votes, according to unofficial results showing 3,613 cast. Dustin Beaty, his challenger, earned around 30.81% of the votes. There was no Democratic primary because zero Democrats qualified.

The district covers part of Walker County. Republican Matt Woods previously held the seat and was elected to the Alabama Senate on June 24.
