The City of South Perth has released its new urban greening strategy , which it says is designed to create a greener, cooler and more liveable city for future generations.

The strategy will guide planning and implementation of urban greening across the city from 2025-2050.

Developed with independent consultants Josh Byrne and Associates, the strategy sets out key environmental and community outcomes, including enhanced urban cooling, increased biodiversity, and improved public health and wellbeing.

The plan includes four pillars — protect, enhance, manage, and connect and support — each containing goals and objectives to guide action and investment.

The strategy follows three stages of stakeholder and community engagement.
