HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Mayor Rick Blangiardi has directed the Pride flag to be raised outside the Frank F. Fasi Municipal Building throughout October in celebration of Honolulu Pride Month.

In addition, Blangiardi has requested that Honolulu Hale and the Neil S. Blaisdell Arena be illuminated in the rainbow colors of the Pride flag from sundown on Oct. 16, through sunrise on Oct. 19.

To close out the week, the Mayor’s Office, along with dozens of City employees and their families, will take part in the Honolulu Pride Parade and Festival on Oct. 18.

The parade begins at 3 p.m. at Magic Island and proceeds to Kapi‘olani Park, followed by an evening festival at the Waikiki Shell starting at 5 p.m.
