Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), the Indian defence manufacturer developing the Tejas fighter aircraft for the Indian Air Force (IAF), has received its fourth engine from American company General Electric (GE). With this, HAL is on track to deliver two Tejas Mark-1A fighter jets to the IAF by November.
The Tejas Mark-1A is an advanced version of the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA), featuring upgraded avionics, radar systems, and over 65% indigenous components.
The single-engine aircraft, developed by HAL in collaboration with the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) and DRDO, is designed for air, water, and ground attacks and can operate in challenging conditions.
