Are those ads on the batting helmets?

Fans around the country were asking exactly that as each game of the respective wild card series began on Tuesday.

The answer was yes.

Strauss, a German apparel company, reached a deal with MLB to put its ad on the helmets during the postseason through the 2027 season. The Red Sox and Yankees each had them on their blue helmets for Game 1 of their series at Yankee Stadium.

According to ESPN, financial terms were not announced.

The ads feature the company’s white on red logo and the word STRAUSS in capital letters. They are just under an inch high and 5 inches long on each side of the helmet.

The ads look similar to those that appear on NHL players’ helmets.

Baseball already had ads on jersey sleeves.
