A 24-year-old man who drove his car to secure a better park after a night out has lost his licence for high-range drink-driving.
Jake Balzan of Sanctuary Point appeared before Nowra Local Court on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.
He pleaded guilty to driving with a high-range prescribed alcohol concentration and was disqualified from driving for nine months.
Balzan was also fined $1500 and ordered to have a mandatory interlock device fitted to his vehicle for 48 months.
Defence lawyer Ted Neeves said Balzan had attended a concert at the Husky Pub on July 5, 2025, and decided to move his car from the street into the car park once a space became available.
Magistrate Timothy Khoo said police attention was drawn to Balzan's driving after they saw him leave a car park at speed.
