Parts of the UK are set to be battered by downpours this week - as weather maps revealed a 1,000-mile wall of rain was on its way.
Weather maps from WX Charts depicted a wall of rain stretching at least 1,000 miles in length heading over the British Isles on Friday (October 3).
The multi-coloured chart showed the band of rain varying in intensity, with shades of red indicating higher levels of rainfall with at least 5mm or more of rain predicted per hour.
