The first of four special property reassessment committee hearings ended with unanswered questions, a few recommendations and political accusations.

Lawmakers had hoped to learn more about the strategy contractor Tyler Technologies used to conduct the reassessments and solutions for dissatisfied property owners, but they were hit with roadblocks from the start.

Lawmakers also heard that the New Castle County reassessment team “recommended several times” that the tentative new property values be sent to residents in the summer of 2024, but they did not go out until mid-November.
