YOUNGSTOWN Police and a Highway Patrol Helicopter were in pursuit as a car led them on a nearly half-hour-long chase through much of Youngstown and part of Liberty Township late Tuesday.

State Troopers tell 21 News that Youngstown Police called for their assistance at around 9:30 p.m. after a large crowd was reported at a bar near Hubbard Road and Logan Way.

The chopper followed from above as a car left the bar and drove through the city’s North Side, into Liberty, then back into the North Side, along I-680, to the South Side, where several occupants of the car jumped out.

During the chase, speeds through residential neighborhoods reached 80 miles per hour.

The helicopter continued the chase, which ended at the Seneca Oaks apartment complex off McGuffey Road on Youngstown’s East Side
