At least 11 Starbucks in Colorado closed as part of the coffee giant’s wave of cuts at the end of September.
The closings are among hundreds nationwide and represent about 1% of the chain’s stores. Starbucks has not published a list of which stores are closing, but the Coloradoan , other media outlets and online postings identified locations across Colorado. None of the Colorado locations in the reports were still on Starbucks’ online directory of stores the afternoon of Sept. 30. All are in the Front Range.
Employees were either offered positions in other locations or provided with severance, according to a memo posted online by CEO Brian Niccol.
