Natural Gas Prices for October 2025: The Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has announced a revision in the natural gas price ceiling for difficult fields, fixing it at USD 9.72 per million British thermal units (MMBtu) on a Gross Calorific Value (GCV) basis for the six-month period from October 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.

According to the ministry notification issued under the government’s pricing freedom policy for gas from deepwater, ultra-deepwater, and high-pressure-high-temperature (HPHT) fields, the new ceiling is lower than the previous cap of USD 10.04/MMBtu applicable between April 1 and September 30, 2025.
