JACKSONVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - A man wanted in connection with a shooting near a Jacksonville hotel is now in custody.

According to court documents, 43-year-old Rodney Taft was arrested by Jacksonville police yesterday afternoon.

Police said a search for Taft was underway after a shooting at 139 Moosehaven Road on September 21st left a woman injured.

The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the suspect and the victim know each other.

Taft was charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, assault on a female, going armed to the terror of people, and discharging a firearm in city limits.

Taft was taken to the Onslow County jail without bond. He’s set to appear in court this morning.
