The Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) will spend Rs 6.28 billion to widen an existing four-lane stretch into a six-lane, 50-km cement concrete road running parallel to the upcoming Hinjewadi–Shivajinagar Metro Line 3. The project aims to enhance connectivity, improve traffic flow, and complement Pune’s metro infrastructure.

According to PMRDA officials, the project will cover 25 km in each direction along the elevated Metro line. It includes four-lane carriageways, parking lanes, bus bays, lay-bys, utility ducts, upgraded pedestrian facilities, cycle tracks, and landscaped medians. Utility shifting, beautification, and electrification work are also part of the plan.
