WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - Sedgwick County Commissioners will consider a proposal to consolidate tag offices at their meeting on Wednesday. Currently, there are two tag offices in Wichita, located at 2525 W. Douglas and 5620 E. Kellogg.
During a press conference last week, Sedgwick County Treasurer Brandi Baily recommended consolidating resources to the Douglas office and closing the Kellogg office. She said the proposal comes at a time of limited resources and inadequate state funding for local tag offices.
“This move will save the county more than $350,000 per year,” Baily said. “This is not an easy decision, but our hands are tied due to the lack of operational funding from the State of Kansas not covering our expenses.”
The move will save the county over $1 million in savings over the r
