Police in Karonga District have arrested 28-year-old Enock Mwakasoko on suspicion of illegally storing 280 litres of motor fuel without a permit.

Karonga Police spokesperson Margret Msiska said the arrest followed a tip-off from well-wishers.

“We found him in Mwambuli Village with fourteen (14) drums, each containing twenty (20) litres of fuel,” said Msiska.

Mwakasoko is expected to appear in court soon to answer charges related to unlawful possession and storage of fuel.
