Pennsylvania youth football coach Brandon Smith was killed in a shooting this past weekend. He was 45 years old.

Smith, of West Middlesex, Pa., was shot outside of Yank’s Place on Idaho Avenue in Farrell, Pa. early Sunday morning, according to WKBN . He later died at a local hospital.

Michael A. Cox Jr. of New Castle has been arrested in connection with the shooting, according to WKBN . His charges include criminal homicide and aggravated assault.

Farrell Area School District Superintendent Dr. Lora Adams-King said earlier this week in a statement that Brandon Smith attended Farrell Area High School, was a community member and a “beloved coach.”
