The best reaction to the presence of federal troops in Portland is to ignore them, (“ Editorial: Portland must resist becoming Trump’s political prop, ” Sept. 28).
If you are a protester, you are there to protest a cause, not to skirmish with police or federal agents. Don’t yell at them or throw things or taunt them. You are inciting violence if you do. Let’s not give them a reason to interfere with the protests or to arrest anyone. It is our freedom of speech that we are exercising.
Let’s show President Donald Trump that we are a beautiful and peaceful city, and not “War ravaged.”
