COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - Pikes Peak State College (PPSC) announced Tuesday a plan to support military students who may be affected by the government shutdown.

The federal government shut down late Tuesday night after President Donald Trump and Congress failed to reach an agreement to keep government programs and services running by Wednesday’s deadline.

While Department of Defense education assistance may be impacted, the college says VA Education benefits should continue uninterrupted due to their funding structure, though VA helplines may experience reduced staffing.

The college says they identified students currently enrolled in upcoming terms who may lose their Department of Defense Tuition Assistance funding, representing over $20,000 in educational benefits.
