LAPORTE — A 67-year-old local woman reported missing Tuesday night has been located and is back at her home, according to the LaPorte County Sheriff's Department.

The search was called off for Maria Edwards.

"Thank you to all the personnel from the various agencies who assisted in the search for Maria," county police said. "Many thanks also to those who shared the Silver Alert information. Much appreciated."

When announcing the search, police said Edwards was last seen late Monday night. It was announced early Wednesday she had been located.
