A fun event for a great cause returns to Sylvan Lake, Saturday, October 4.
The 5th Annual Witches Paddle is back with donations from this year's event going to The Sylvan Lake Food Bank.
The Witch's Paddle was started in 2001 by Megan Cooney. The event has grown from one person (in the first year) to some years with over 100 witches on the lake.
Everyone is welcome to attend, and you are encouraged to dress up as witches, decorate your paddle boards and have a great time.
This is a free event with registration starting at 12 noon on the pier. You can use a paddleboard, kayak or canoe. (no motorized watercraft are allowed).
The launch begins at 1 pm west of the pier.
All participants must have a lifejacket, and a wet suit is encouraged if the weather is cold.
