Google and NBCUniversal (NBCU) have reached a short-term extension to keep NBCU programming on YouTube TV – for now.

The two media giants agreed to the short-term extension late on Tuesday, Sept. 30, according to NBCU and Google statements obtained by USA TODAY.

Google and NBCU had been negotiating terms and rates to keep the latter's channels on YouTube TV. Their former deal expired on Sept. 30.

It was not immediately clear when the short-term agreement expires.
