The City of Palatka Commission approved on Tuesday a rollback millage rate for the upcoming fiscal year.

During last night’s meeting, commissioners voted to adopt a rollback millage rate of 6.2397 for the upcoming year.

Officials said the rollback rate represents the rate at which the City will collect the same amount of property tax revenue as the previous year, excluding the value of new construction.

By adopting this lower rate, the City Commission said it ensured that property owners in Palatka will not see an increase in their ad valorem tax bills.
