A 17-year-old pedestrian is dead after a collision involving a pickup truck south of London, Ontario Provincial Police say.

The new details were made public by police on Wednesday, two days after the collision occurred shortly before noon on John Wise Line between Sunset Road and Rieger Road – located in an area that’s on the outskirts of St. Thomas.

Ontario Provincial Police officers, local paramedics and Southwold firefighters responded to the scene, police said. The 17-year-old pedestrian – whose name has not been made public – was taken to hospital and later died, police said.

The driver of the pickup truck, a 57-year-old from Elgin County, was not injured, police said.
