PADUCAH, Ky. (KFVS) - A weekend of poetry is coming to downtown Paducah.

The James Baker Hall Foundation and West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) are hosting Poetry Weekend at the Paducah School of Art and Design on Friday, October 24, and Saturday, Oct. 25.

Organizers said the two-day event is part of the foundation’s Kentucky Writers on the Road series, which brings award-winning authors to communities across the state.

According to WKCTC, the event will feature poet Wesley Houp, local student writers, public readings, a free writing workshop and a celebration of Kentucky’s rich literary heritage.

A community reception is set for Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m., followed by readings from students and faculty at 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
