Skeletal remains found behind a Queens shopping center belong to a nurse who disappeared four years ago, according to his wife.

The New York Police Department tells PEOPLE that the possible human remains were found in the area of 20th Avenue and 132nd Street just before 4 p.m. local time on Monday, Sept. 29.

A city survey crew found the male skull, leg bone and hip bone while working along 20th Avenue, ABC affiliate WABC reported.
