BATSON, Texas — Residents west of West Hardin High School in Batson remain without water Wednesday as crews work to repair an outage in the community's troubled water system, according to the West Hardin Water Supply Corporation.

The outage represents the latest challenge for the rural water supply organization, which has been managing critical infrastructure problems since mid-September while seeking funding for an estimated $1.2 million in well and plant improvements.

The corporation distributed water at the Batson Fire Department on Sept. 30, with plans to continue distribution as needed.
