Worried about traffic snarls potentially impeding Santa’s sleigh ride into the city, organizers of this year’s Christmas parade have opted to hold the popular event during the day.
The 49 th annual Brantford Santa Claus Parade, hosted by Freedom House, a nighttime tradition for many years, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 29 at 2 p.m., four hours earlier than usual.
Freedom House Pastor Dave Carrol said the plan was to hold the parade at the traditional time, but organizers began to realize a combination of road construction and a Brantford Bulldogs home game against Kitchener starting at 7 p.m. could spell trouble.
